I'm sticking this under resources, as it is quite important lately. While those in the US might not understand what Hezbollah stands for, here in Europe and in the middle east Hezbollah is seen as the only thing stopping Israel from completely destroying Lebanon. People will say "Well Hezbollah started it all". Thats a load of crap, Hezbollah was formed to get rid of Israeli occupation of Lebanon the first time, 20 years ago. Despite being a Shia organisation, it has huge backing from sunnis and christians, and many people of many different backgrounds are now flying their flag as a show of unity behind it.
Again, people in the US probably wouldn't understand. As the Lebanese government stands idle hoping Israel will stop, Hezbollah is the one fighting for their country. |
